Our old friends at WQXR CLASSICAL RADIO featured the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra FIVE times  for their “Juneteenth” broadcast day: WILL MARION COOK’S “In Dahomey Overture,” EUBIE BLAKE’S “Shuffle Along Overture,” Q. ROSCOE SNOWDON’S “Slow Drag Blues,” CLARENCE WILLIAM’S “Royal Garden Blues,” and J. TIM BRYM’S “Valse Angelique.” WQXR’s support of our work goes all the way back to 1988, when the station first produced what became a series of live PRO simulcast concerts from around New York. And since that time they’ve been regular broadcasters of our recordings. Thanks, WQXR!

"Benjamin and his orchestra filled the second half of the evening with lilting, humorous, and even elegant readings of ragtime numbers, a W.C. Handy blues song, and even a Sousa march…Popular music, A.D. 1900, is still going strong."
